Baruch College, a prestigious university.

Baruch College is a university based in New York.

It offers semester-long courses in business.

In my third year at ISG, I was supposed to go abroad for a semester in one of our partner universities.

So I dreamed of going to New York for a few months, to have a memorable experience and live for a few months in a city that you only see in the movies.

I prepared myself during my first year of higher education to experience this.

Emergence of the virus

But in the middle of my second year of graduate school, a virus emerged and spread around the world to become the biggest pandemic of the century.

Every time I turn on the TV, all I see is dramatic news stories citing the death toll, restrictions related to the health crisis, and borders closing over time.

I gradually understand that my dream will not come true. I understand from that moment that New York will not welcome me during this long awaited semester.

Then came the day I was supposed to leave. It was February 2021, and I was supposed to start at Baruch College, by videoconference.

My loss of resolve

I expect the worst... More than a year I've been taking classes via videoconference, more than a year I've been locked in my flat working alone on my own. No more social life, no more restaurants, no more bars, no more parties.

And here I am again, taking distance learning courses.

My expectations made me lose almost all motivation and my vision of my future plans shrank in correlation with the growth of this virus.

My motivation is revitalized

But in my first few hours at Baruch College, I picked myself up and realized that these classes were interesting, that it was still different and fun to be in New York from a distance.

All the teachers are very nice and professional. All the teachers offer very concrete and formative courses.

My motivation is now stronger than ever, and my determination to succeed and achieve my dreams is stronger than ever!

These courses help me a lot professionally. Thanks to certain courses, I acquire certain knowledge that is very specialised in the field in which I want to develop.
